On May 6, 1998 Steve Jobs introduced the very first iMac to a packed audience at the Flint Center in Cupertino, California.
The iMac (or Internet Macintosh at the time) was described as the “Internet age computer for the rest of us” – an easy way for the average user to get online.
Designed by Brit Jonathan Ive (who later designed the iPod) it was an all in one machine with a Bondi Blue translucent enclosure.
The iMac was the first computer that solely relied on the use of USB as their primary input/output ports.
