The iMac G3 DV Slot Loading Special Edition (2000) marked a notable iteration in the iMac lineup, showcasing subtle but meaningful hardware upgrades. Its processor received another boost, now running at 500MHz, and storage capacity increased to 30GB, accommodating more modern applications and user files compared to earlier models.
Like its predecessors, the memory bus remained at 100MHz, but the standard onboard memory was upgraded to 128MB, enhancing multitasking and overall responsiveness. This model was also noteworthy for supporting memory upgrades up to an impressive 1GB, which was substantial for its era.
Aesthetically, the Special Edition was available in distinctive colors such as Graphite and Snow, making it easily recognizable. The 15-inch CRT display provided crisp visuals within the iconic, all-in-one translucent enclosure.
In terms of connectivity, this iMac included both VGA and FireWire ports, facilitating connection to external displays and digital video equipment—ideal for multimedia enthusiasts. The Special Edition was wireless-ready, featuring an AirPort card slot for wireless networking, which was cutting edge at the time.
The iMac G3 DV Slot Loading Special Edition shipped with Mac OS 9.04, offering users the classic Apple experience with enhanced performance and software compatibility.

I have also faced this problem but its on my Windows PC. Yeah, so what you have to do is to uannstill the driver for your iPod you better have a back up of all your songs then you uannstill iTunes. Restart your PC there you go. Its worked for me on Windows, I’m kind of not sure weather this trick will work on MAC but still try again.
